Inertia

Inertia again? Because nothing happens if nothing happens

Had many plans and yet did not accomplish any? Comfort has many names. It comes as excessive demands, laziness, procrastination, hanging behind, delaying, waiting, pausing, or even boycott, sabotage, resistance, and refusal. Often, the consequences of inaction are not that bad. Nothing happens if nothing happens. But both action and inaction is a decision. You have the choice. Have you really chosen? These 3 steps help you assess whether you can afford inaction:

  1. Goal: Formulate the goal of your activity and valid expectations of others.
  2. Balance: Think about the advantages and disadvantages of action and inaction.
  3. Decision: Decide resolutely for action or inaction.

With this procedure, inaction often is a good solution. Sometimes, moral beliefs or wrong assumptions make us commit to meaningless or unnecessary activities. Only what really pursues a goal or is a must-do deserves our energy. With this attitude, you can also address future agreements of measures or the delegation of tasks in teams. Do not agree to anything which you are not convinced of and clear about. Thus, no more dead projects will be pipelined.
